Flushing/Carman-Ainsworth suffered another loss on Saturday, falling to the Bay Area Thunder, 8-0, on the road. Bay Area ripped off four goals apiece in each period, forcing a mercy-rule shortened game.

The Thunder got two goals from Grant Rivet and one apiece from Zach Skinner, Braeden Vandenbelt, Lucas Rafaill, Drew Hanover and Alexander Freeman.

The Raiders hosted Midland last Wednesday, losing, 11-1. The Raiders hosted Flint Powers Catholic at Iceland Arena yesterday. — B.P.


Jerron Thomas won the championship at 215 pounds, and six other Cavaliers qualified for the regionals in last Saturday’s Div. 1 individual district at Alpena.The top four in each weight class move on to regionals. Placing second were Darien Vaughn at 130 and Milik Dawkins at 145. Taking third were D’Mario Blue at 160 and Herbie Keskes at 189. In fourth was Lucas Schutt at 145 and Lorenzo Redmond at 152. All seven advanced to Saturday’s regional at Oxford.

In the team district Feb. 5 at Swartz Creek, the Cavs beat the host Dragons, 55-24, in the semifinals, but lost the final to Grand Blanc 43-30. – D.N.
