Carman-Ainsworth girls’ golf had just three players for Monday’s 9-hole Saginaw Valley League match at the Lapeer Country Club. What they witnessed was a dog fight that in the end had Lapeer upsetting state-ranked Davison (No. 2, Div. 1) and Midland Dow (No. 1, Div. 2) to win the title. Lapeer carded 174 to Dow’s 176 and Davison’s 182. Midland fired a 204. Because it just had three players and Flint Southwestern just two, no team scores were possible for the Cavs and the Knights.
