The Carman-Ainsworth girls’ squad carded their lowest round in two years at the Saginaw Valley League crossover 9-hole tournament at the Swartz Creek Golf Course on Monday, finishing the day in second place with a 205. Flint Powers won the meet with 194, Saginaw Heritage was third with 206. Bay City Western was fourth with 210, Mt. Pleasant was fifth with 222 and Flint Northwestern did not have a full team.

Mikaila Garrison led with 44, Madysen League fired a 50 and Taylor Jarnigin a 52. Alainna Gleason finished with 59. Low medalist for the day was Flint Powers’ Reanna Barth with a 40. — L.P.


Tyler Springer had two goals and an assist on Sept. 24 in Saginaw Valley League-South action to help lead the Carman-Ainsworth varsity soccer team to an 8-0 victory at Flint Southwestern. Brandon Moore and Yahya Abdelhay were next on the charts for the Cavs with a goal and an assist a piece, Leon Bell scored twice and adding a goal each were Ahmad Alzahabi and Chris Sylvester.

Brandon Moore and Oliver Swain both added an assist and playing goalie were Derrald Bogan and Uthman Shukairy.

Carman-Ainsworth had a conference game yesterday at Davison. — M.S.
