CROSS COUNTRY

The Cavalier girls finished eighth with 264 points at the Kayla O’Mara Invitational Saturday. Linden won the event with 62 points.

Arianna Vantine was 57th in 25:45.2, Bailey Curtis was 59th in 26:50.9, Khalia McGruder was 60th in 27:24.9 and Devin Foster was 61st in 27:29.0. Chante Boyd was 62nd in 27:33.7, Laura Depew was 64th in 28:20.0, D’Mya Mason was 65th in 28:22.4, Niajah Hood was 68th in 29:56.8 and Aleah Mixon was 69th in 31:24.0.

The Cavalier boys finished eighth with 216 points. Heritage won the event with 23 points.

Juwan Willis was 36th in 19:15.9, Joe Chinkeefatt was 38th in 19:24.2 and Justin Snider was 48th in 20:59.4. Andrew Stephens was 54th in 22:15.5, Trevor Booth was 55th in 23:00.6, Logan Martin-Nagy was 58th in 24:40.0 and Tyler Willis was 59th in 25:19.0. — K.W.

VOLLEYBALL

The Cavaliers dropped a hard-fought 9-25, 25-21, 11-25, 19-25 decision to Davison Tuesday.

Sarah Thurston had 19 assists and nine digs, Eriona Chambers added five kills and four blocks, Che’Anne Hicks had eight kills and Sydney Cunningham added three kills and four blocks.

Samantha Green chipped in five kills and Katie Speaks had 10 digs.

The Cavaliers dropped a hard-fought 18-25, 28-26, 25-20 decision to Swartz Creek Wednesday.

Chambers had eight blocks and five kills and Thurston added 14 assists, four blocks, eight digs and three kills. Hicks chipped in seven kills and five digs, Speaks had 12 digs, Diamond Lester and Morgan Sherrer seven and Amber Smith added six.

The Cavaliers are 8-19-1 overall, 2-3 Saginaw Valley League. — K.W.

Sight-in days

The Lapeer County Sportsman’s Club,1213 Lake George Rd., Attica, will have two days to sight in rifles, pistols, slug guns, or muzzle loaders on life-size deer targets. Nov. 7-8, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Cost: $5 for club members, $10 non-members. Free coffee and donuts.
