GOLF

The Cavaliers finished ninth in the second Saginaw Valley League tournament of the season Monday, shooting 394 at Fenton Farms, their home course. Tyson Fields carded 89, Aaron Floyd 94, John Karbowski 104 and Ryan Macko 107. Midland was first with 315.

Carman-Ainsworth was 10th in the first SVL meeting last Thursday, shooting 417 at Saginaw Valley Golf Course. Karbowski carded 101, Fields 102, Noah Vanderhyde 104 and Kaden Rytlewski 110. Midland was first with 320.

The Cavs will play in the Genesee County Invitational on Monday at Flint Elks Club. – D.N.

SOCCER

Carman-Ainsworth defeated Flint Southwestern 8-0 Monday. Freshman Destinee Lester had the hat trick for the Cavaliers.

Another freshman, Jasia Caldwell scored twice. Nisreen Shukairy also scored a pair of goals.

Arianna Vantine scored a goal and shared the goalkeeping duties with Alexus Menard.

The Cavaliers were at Lapeer Wednesday and play Genesee Christian Friday. – K.W.
