FLINT TWP. — Carman- Ainsworth Community Schools has chosen Gina Ryan as the district’s new Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, effective July 1.
Ryan, currently the Director Teaching and Learning at CACS, was appointed to the position at the June 15 Carman-Ainsworth Board of Education meeting. She has been employed with Carman- Ainsworth Community Schools since 1999 and has also served as an elementary teacher, assistant principal and an elementary principal.
Cathy McGilvery, the incoming CACS Superintendent, said that Ryan’s administrative background and experience with special education makes her a great fit for her new role.
“Gina’s knowledge of MTSS interventions, social-emotional learning and curriculum, along with her experience as the Director of Teaching and Learning, will make her an asset in her new position,” McGilvery said.
Ryan herself is a proud Cavalier alum, having started at CACS in kindergarten at Rankin Elementary School and graduated from Carman- Ainsworth High School. She will be taking over the position currently held by McGilvery, who was selected as the district’s next superintendent, effective July 1. — B.G.
