Salvation Army gets $100,000 grant from Mott Foundation

FLINT — Efforts by The Salvation Army of Genesee County to provide area residents with key emergency services for help with utility shut off notices, water turn off and eviction notices received an important boost recently, thanks to a one-year $100,000 grant from the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation.

The C. S. Mott Foundation grant award is a blessing to The Army and the families we serve. Hundreds of families throughout Genesee County will be helped this year because of the incredible generosity of the C. S. Mott Foundation.

“We are committed to providing ongoing quality programming and services in Genesee County through the generosity of the C. S. Mott Foundation” said Captain Caleb B. Senn, County Coordinator.

The Salvation Army’s Comprehensive Emergency Assistance Program assists families and individuals with emergency needs for which there are no public forms of assistance, by providing a temporary safe haven to those experiencing personal financial crisis and providing them with the proper tools and guidance to make life changing decisions.
