Art fair

GRAND BLANC — The Grand Blanc Arts Council will present the 22nd annual Art Fair from 10 a.m. to 5 pm. Saturday, July 31, and Sunday, Aug. 1, at Physicians Park.

State and local artists will display and sell jewelry, paintings, watercolors, ceramics, woven art and constructions. Food vendors, silent auction, GBAC member artwork and local musicians.

Sponsored by the Grand Blanc Arts Council with proceeds going to the development of the arts in the Grand Blanc area. Free. — L.R.

Car safety seat check

GRAND BLANC TWP. — The Grand Blanc Township Police Department will host a car seat safety check from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 31, at the police station, 5405 S. Saginaw St. By appointment only. Call 734-763-2251 to schedule an appointment. Children must be present. Replacement seats may be available for those who qualify. Sponsored by C.S. Duck race

GRAND BLANC — The Grand Blanc Educational Foundation will sponsor its annual duck race at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 1, at Thread Creek in Rust Park.

Ducks cost $5 and are available from any GBEF member, or at the Art Fair.

First place: $500. Second place: chauffeur-driven ride in a classic car to a restaurant of the winner’s choice and dinner for four. Third place: $100. Fourth through seventh place: $50. Two random drawings for free use of a Cadillac for one weekend compliments of Al Serra.

Children’s race to follow main race, cash prizes.

Proceeds go toward grants to GBCS staff for classroom programs, supplies, and field trips.

SWARTZ CREEK — The Knights of Columbus Council 6694 and Swartz Creek Fine Arts Association will welcome Old Days Chicago Tribute to the stage of the Pajtas Theater at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3. Bring lawn chairs and blankets for seating. Free. — L.R.
