2018-19 Friday Applewood Lecture Series

FLINT — The Mott Community College (MCC) Lifelong Learning office announces the 2018-19 Friday Applewood Lecture Series. The next program in the line-up is: Amy Rouleau will present “The Building of the Restoration Place,” on Jan.18, at 10 a.m., a nonprofit organization whose primary vision is to provide long-term aftercare for girls who have been sexually exploited through Human Trafficking. This series especially designed for senior citizens, but is open to everyone runs through May. 2019 Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service

FLINT — The United Way of Genesee County will host a volunteer day of service Jan. 21, from 9 a.m.-12 the Dort Federal Credit Union Event Center, 3501 Lapeer Rd. Please join us in uniting under Dr. King’s belief that many social ills can be defeated through citizen service. Recognizing that 1 in 5 Genesee County families deal with hunger, we will be packing 80,000 meals to provide to local Genesee County residents who are experiencing food insecurity. No experience needed and for all ages (kids ages 5+). Registration is required for each volunteer at Lunch will be provided. — P.S.
