DAVISON — The Davison Board of Education appointed new officers Jan. 11 following the outcome of the Nov. 3 election in which two longtime members – President Kathleen Sudia and Board member Mark McGlashen – were voted out.
Veteran board member Karen Conover was elected president by a vote of 4-3, with board members Matthew Smith, Stephanie Pickell and Nick Goyette voting against her appointment. They instead voted for Pickell, who was one of the three elected in November.
Granger Stefanko was elected vice president, also by a 4-3 vote.
Smith nominated board member Diane Rhines for the position and Pickell and Goyette voted along with him.
Rhines was elected to serve as secretary by a 4-3 vote. Goyette nominated Smith for the position.
School board member Eric Lieske was elected to serve as treasurer by a 7-0 vote. He was the sole nominee for the position.
