FLINT TWP. — The Carman- Ainsworth Board of Education has changed its June meeting schedule to accommodate budget planning.
Normally, the board meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month. Instead, in June meetings will be held on June 5, 12 and 26.
The change was made at the request of Superintendent Bill Haley who said he wanted the extra time to incorporate important anticipated legislative directives due from Lansing regarding retirement reforms and school aid.
The budget hearing for the 2012-13 school year has been moved from June 5 to June 12 at 5:30 p.m., prior to the board meeting. The budget will be officially adopted at the June 26 meeting.
The board also approved a short-term loan from Chase bank to resolve cash flow problems during the summer month until the next state aid funds arrive in the fall.
