Security Credit Union partners with Old Newsboys of Flint

Offices collect donations to benefit annual Christmas campaign

FLINT — Flint-based Security Credit Union (SCU) has partnered with the Old Newsboys of Flint to raise funds for the organization’s annual Christmas campaign running now through Dec. 31.

“The Old Newsboys play a vital role in making sure needy children in our community have something under the tree on Christmas morning,” said Christopher Estes, president of SCU. “We are pleased to partner with them again this year and help ensure every child has a Merry Christmas.”

SCU offices in Genesee County will be collecting monetary donations in canisters through the end of the year.

Community members also have an opportunity to participate in Sponsor a Child Program. With a $20 donation, supporters receive a button and their names displayed on paper ornaments in the SCU office.

“SCU remains committed to the Flint community, and we’re happy to partner with an organization that values the community as much as we do,” said Estes.

All donations to the Christmas campaign will be directly deposited into a designated Old Newsboys account.
