FLINT — Flint-based Security Credit Union(SCU) will sponsor the second annual Car Corral during the Back to the Bricks Cruise Weekend on Aug. 17.
The community’s premiere car cruise and show will take over downtown Flint, Aug. 13-17.
“We’re proud to be involved with an event that celebrates Flint’s rich automotive history,” said Christopher Estes, SCU president and CEO. “Founded in 1949 by employees of Buick, sponsoring the Car Corral is a natural fit with our heritage.”
From 8 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday, SCU will offer special financing on classic cars available for purchase in the Car Corral on the corner of Martin Luther King Avenue and Saginaw Street.
Buyers will receive a special loan that combines 1 percent annual percentage rate (APR) with the year the vehicle was manufactured to create an extremely affordable rate. For instance, a buyer of a 1949 vehicle would pay an APR of 1.49 percent.
“At SCU we remain committed to providing exceptional value and quality service to our members and the community,” Estes said. “We’re pleased to offer incredible savings during the second year of the Security Credit Union Car Corral.”
In addition to sponsoring the Car Corral, Estes serves on the Back to the Bricks board of directors.
