FLINT TWP. — Baker College of Flint will hold its 2011 Senior Open House/Financial Aid Workshop Feb. 5.
The event is designed to help area college-bound high school seniors and their parents understand and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2011-2012 academic year. The workshop is free of charge and open to all high school seniors, regardless of whether or not they have identified their college of choice.
This year, there will be a special drawing to win a scholarship for a four-hour credit class to Baker College of Flint.
The schedule for the workshop at Baker College of Flint is: 8:30-9 a.m., check-in and breakfast in Student Center; 9-9:10 a.m., welcome remarks; 9:10-11 a.m., meet your dean and program highlights; and 11 a.m.-1 p.m., financial aid assistance and campus tours.
Advisors will be on hand to provide one-on-one assistance in completing the online financial aid form, and to answer questions and offer information about Baker College of Flint. If available, attendees are asked to bring the following: 2010 W-2 forms for parents and students, 2010 Federal and State 1040 tax returns for parents and students and 2010 untaxed income amounts (e.g., ADC, SSI, child support, etc.).
