SERVPRO® to sponsor ‘Stuff the Truck’ blanket drive

Collection sites in Davison, Swartz Creek, Flint, Fenton

FLINT TWP. — With COVID restrictions making it difficult to provide adequate space for the homeless in warming centers throughout Genesee County, SERVPRO will hold a blanket drive to fill a SERVPRO® Box Truck with blankets.

Collection dates are Thursday, Dec. 17, and Friday, Dec. 18, at the following times and locations:

• Davison City Hall, 200 E. Flint St., Davison, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday.

• American Legion Post 294, 3440 Morrish Road, Swartz Creek, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday.

• Flint Farmers’ Market, 300 E. First St., Flint, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday.

• Community Threads, 1370 N. Leroy St., Fenton, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday.

New blankets are preferred, but they will accept like-new blankets, as well.

Anyone wishing to make a monetary donation toward the cause may do so through Snuggle Sacks.

The blanket drive will go to support the Shelter of Flint, My Brother’s Keeper, Carriage Town Ministries, and Catholic Charities of Genesee County.

Sponsorship partners for this drive are Equality Caucus of Genesee County and Recovery Cleaners.

SERVPRO® of Northwest Genesee County has spent 2020 donating more than $25,000 to families and nonprofit organizations in our community through the SERVPRO® Cares Campaign. This is their final project for the year. — L.R.
