Sign up for inaugural View Lady Classic

METAMORA — Seasoned, amateur and first-time lady golfers can sign up today for the first-ever View Lady Classic set for Thursday, Aug. 24 at Metamora Golf & Country Club. The day promises fun, prizes and more all for a great cause — LACADA (Lapeer Area Citizens Against Domestic Assault).

Golfers can register as an individual or a team for the 18-hole scramble. Cost is $400 per team or $100 per individual golfer and includes green fees, cart, breakfast, lunch and dinner.

“We could not be more excited to host our first-ever View Lady Classic,” said Emily Caswell, brand manager at VIEW Group. “This event is like no other golf outing, plus it raises money for a great cause in our community.”

The day kicks off with a celeb caddy auction featuring local celebs like Sheriff Scott McKenna, Lakestone Bank & Trust President Mike Burke, View Newspaper Group Brand Assistant Alex Petrie and many more. Winning teams will have their caddy tag along for the day, with each caddy allowed one shot per hole.

“We have about a dozen celebs who have all volunteered to be auctioned off with all money going directly to LACADA,” said Caswell. “We expect celebs to go for big money. Plus, it’ll be a ton of fun to watch.”

Along with the celeb caddy auction, unique features of the View Lady Classic include mulligan balloons golfers can pop to help their score, a 9 and out room for golfers who prefer to cut their game short in exchange for games, delicious food and relaxation and awesome giveaways and prizes.

“Our team has worked really hard to ensure that all 144 lady golfers who come out and join us on Aug. 24 want to return again next year and the next year and so on,” said Caswell.

Registration begins at 8 a.m., followed by a light breakfast and the celeb caddy auction at 8:45 a.m. Golf beings with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. A strolling dinner and awards will start around 4 p.m.

Sponsors for this year’s event include MedStar, Lapeer Surgery Center, Jim Riehl’s Friendly Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM, McLaren Lapeer Region, Coventry Realty, Lakestone Bank & Trust, Hurley Medical Center, Village Printing, Louie’s Sports Tavern, Rusty Bashore Photography, Ray C’s Harley- Davidson of Lapeer, Tasty Layers, Burke’s Flowers, ELGA Credit Union, Milnes Auto Group and many showcase and hole sponsors.

“We are thrilled that the View Newspaper Group team approached us to be a part of this great event,” said Tracey Walker, Executive Director of LACADA. “LACADA is always grateful for support from the community. This event is a great way to engage, network and have fun!”
