FLINT TWP. — Coming back bigger and better for its second year, the annual Experience Flint Township Expo is being planned for June 17 in the front parking lot of Davenport University, 4318 Miller Rd.
This year’s schedule of events still is in the early planning stages but should be made public sometime next month, said Wilma Mitchell, campus director at Davenport.
Organizers are seeking vendors -local businesses and restaurants – to sign up for the Expo, she said.
The event will have two formats. One is an opportunity for business owners to showcase their products and services. The second will be for local restaurants to provide samples of the wide variety of foods sold by township businesses.
Interested participants can call Mitchell at 810-396-3635 for more information or to request a registration form.
Township Supervisor Karyn Miller is helping to spread the word about the event. In an announcement at the township board meeting last week, she described it as a venue to “meet your neighbors’’ and learn more about businesses in the township.
More information about the Expo will be posted on the township’s website when it becomes available, she said.
Township officials teamed up with Davenport last August to host the first event.
About 45 vendors signed up for that inaugural event. Planners said they intend to make it an annual event and are aiming for a bigger turnout this year. Last year, everything was free.
