GENESEE COUNTY — The American Cancer Society invites area residents in the Great Lakes Bay Region, and Genesee and Lapeer counties to join a 38-year tradition of kick-starting spring through its Daffodil Days fundraiser.
The Society is looking for site coordinators to help gather daffodil orders in their place of business, worship, or among friends and family. If you are interested in joining the fight against cancer as a site coordinator, please contact your American Cancer Society at 1-800-227-2345.
In addition to securing daffodil orders through their workplaces, worship venues or organizations, site coordinators are responsible for gathering and returning all orders and payments to the local American Cancer Society office.
Area residents have until March 3 to order daffodils. A bunch of 10 daffodils is available for a donation of $10, or a bunch of 10 with a vase is $15. A $25 Gift of Hope is a bouquet of 10 daffodils that is delivered anonymously to cancer patients in hospitals and treatment centers in the community, brightening their day and sharing hope for a future where cancer no longer threatens those we love. Daffodils will be delivered March 17, just in time for the first day of spring.
Volunteers also are needed to help with daffodil delivery the week of March 14. Volunteers are needed to wrap bunches, organize orders, deliver Gifts of Hope to local medical facilities, and more.
