FLINT — The Founders Society and the Flint Institute of Arts are presenting the sixth annual First Frost Arts Festival the first weekend in November.
This event is a unique two-day arts festival held inside the Flint Institute of Arts (FIA). The event will feature items on sale from nearly 50 hand-selected artists that will all appeal to the discriminating holiday shopper. This year’s First Frost will feature artists displaying their crafts in wood, fiber, jewelry, glass, ceramics, painting, mosaics, steel and mixed media.
All artists’ booths will be located in the FIA’s C.S. Mott Gallery wing and Isabel Hall.
Back by popular demand in the courtyard will be glassblowing demonstrations by Charlie Shoulders of Brighton, MI. The event will also include a Festival of Trees and Wreaths, which features large and small items created by local designers, florists, community organizations and First Frost volunteers. The trees and wreaths will be available for purchase or by a silent auction. The auction room will be open for bidding throughout the festival.
