TROY — The coronavirus pandemic cannot stop the Lutheran Adoption Services (LAS) from hosting its Sixth Annual Forever Home Run in October.
Instead the 5K run will be hosted virtually starting on Oct. 16 at 7:30 a.m. and will end on Oct.18 at 11:59 p.m.
The virtual event will include self-guided running options with an online leader board and a picture gallery of participants. Each participant will also receive a racing packet with a t-shirt and medal to commemorate the event. Running enthusiasts from anywhere in Michigan can register for $30 at foreverhomerun.com.
The proceeds will also help fund some of the many services offered through LAS. Some of these include adoptive parent support group sessions, behavioral health services, trauma training, fees for student camps and sports teams and dollars for minor home repair projects to help adoptive parents meet licensing regulations. In the year of an unprecedented pandemic, the need for funds is greater than ever. — G.G.
