FLINT — This year, family-owned Skaff Furniture-Carpet One will host their first ever one-day event to be held two days after the holiday on November 26 to benefit three charitable organizations.
“Were calling it ‘Save and Share Saturday’,” says Dick Skaff, Skaff Furniture-Carpet One President. “And we will be donating 15 percent of each and every customer purchase that day to Carriage Town Ministries, The Food Bank of Eastern Michigan and Whaley’s Children’s Center.”
According to Skaff, each customer can designate which charity they would like to support. They can choose one, or divide their donation between two or all three organizations.
“In the past, when we’ve done our ‘Save and Share’ initiative, customers would purchase gift certificates and some of the proceeds would go to the charity of their choice, but this is the first time we’ve turned it into a one-day event,” says Skaff. “We’re going all out by reducing prices, so our customers realize significant savings, which will make a significant impact for people in need in our community.”
In an effort to create even more excitement for ‘Save and Share Saturday’, customers can also stop by and register to win a Serta I-Comfort queen-size mattress set, a Best recliner, room-size carpet remnants and more.
“We are super excited about this whole thing. We have been planning it since August, and the prices are the lowest of any time during the year,” said Skaff.
Skaff was enthusiastic about his desire to give back to the community and called on other area businesses to do the same.
For this one-day event, Skaff has extended their Saturday hours from 10 a.m.until 8 p.m. Skaff Furniture-Carpet One has been in business in Genesee County since 1911.
The 70,000 square-foot Skaff Warehouse/Showrooms are located at 23- Expressway and Hill Road.
