FLINT – Small business owners and managers have the opportunity to learn creative tactics for getting and keeping customers at “Knock Your Socks Off Customer Service” workshop offered June 14, 10-noon at the Oak Business Center in Flint.
Workshop attendees will learn how to make customers feel important; how to create a plan for great customer service and communicating it to employees; how to diffuse angry customers without dismissing them; age and culturally sensitive customer service; and tips for great phone customer service. It is presented by Vanessa Nelson, MLIR,CLRL, President of Expert Human Resources, a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), woman-owned, small business.
Sponsored by the Michigan Small Business Development Center (MI-SBDC), the workshop is available at no cost due to additional assistance funds provided to Flint recently by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). MI-SBDC is a statewide organization funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the SBA, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) and through local host support. The MI-SBDC provides no cost counseling, business education, planning assistance and guidance for any start-up, existing or growing businesses and innovative technology ventures.
The MI-SBDC regional office is located in Flint at Kettering University. Another Flint counseling and training site was opened mid-May at the Oak Business Center, 2712 N. Saginaw St.
