Experience counts and so does your vote. I’m voting for Matthew Smith for County Commissioner. For a quick second, let’s go back in time to the year 2018. The voters were craving change on the school board and we needed someone to step up. Matthew Smith took on the political establishment and won. Since then, he has changed the school board forever.
Flash forward to 2020, the current County Commissioner David Martin has announced he is running for State Rep. creating an open commissioner seat. Matthew Smith is the only candidate endorsed by David Martin to carry on his legacy and success. Let me share with you a little about Matthew Smith.
Mr. Smith is a small businessman and works for his family’s flooring company and understands how to balance a budget and work as a team player. He is the President of the Genesee County Neighborhood Watch Board and is very familiar with our law enforcement. He will not defund them.
Mr. Smith is the Supervisory Committeeman for ELGA Credit Union which is one of Genesee County’s largest financial institutions where he has financial and economic experience. He is a certified school board member with MASB in finance, labor relations, and policy just to name to few. He spends his free time volunteering for various groups including the Right to Life as Board Secretary and St. John’s as a lector and Eucharist Minister. He also is a volunteer for the food bank and the Knights of Columbus. Matthew Smith is the definition of community involvement. He knows how to get the job done. He will represent everyone no matter the political party. Genesee County needs a proven leader now more than ever. Vote Matthew Smith for Commissioner Absentee or at the polls. — Michelle Sparks, Davison
