FLUSHING – Carman-Ainsworth (9-15) begins the postseason this coming week at the Flushing (2-17) district. Other potential opponents include Swartz Creek (3-9), Kearsley (18-6) and Saginaw Heritage (2-8). Although there are no state-ranked teams in the district, Kearsley is always tough and the rest of the field can’t be taken lightly, either.
Carman-Ainsworth begins on Tuesday against Swartz Creek at 4 p.m. with the winner moving on to take on Kearsley in the semifinal at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. That game will be preceded by Flushing and Saginaw Heritage at 10 a.m. and the district title game will be following at 1 p.m. All games will take place at Flushing.
Madison Cox has been strong at the plate for the Cavs, as has Jada Black, Taylor Jarnigin, Morgan Sherrer, Victoria Young, Ciera Fogarsi, Allison Dittenber, Makala McDaniels, Mikaila Garrison and Sarah Thurston. – B.P.
