Some Flint Township voters headed to polls





FLINT TWP. — Clerk Kim Courts announced that residents from only two precincts will be voting in the August 4 election.

Those who live in the Flushing Community School District will be voting on an 18 mill operating millage renewal and a 0.75 mills renewal for the building and site fund.

The operating millage renewal is for five years – July 1, 2016- June 30, 2021- and is estimated to generate revenues of $2,029,678 during the 2016 calendar year, according to the ballot proposal. The current operating millage will expire on June 30, 2016.

The building and site sinking fund millage renewal also is for five years – July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2021 – and would provide estimated revenues of $469,978 during the 2016 calendar year.

The polling place for eligible residents is at Our Lady of Lebanon Church, 4133 Calkins Road. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Anyone needing an absentee ballot can get one at Courts office in the township hall, 1490 S. Dye Road, she said.
