GRAND BLANC — Sonitrol Tri- County, a leading provider of verified electronic security to businesses, schools and homes, has been named one of the nation’s top 100 security providers in 2014, according to SDM Magazine, the leading security systems industry publication. This year marks SDM Magazine’s 24th annual “SDM 100,” ranking the 100 largest security companies in the U. S.
Sonitrol Tri-County was ranked number 63 in the SDM Top 100 which are rankings derived from each company’s recurring monthly revenue (RMR), as of December 31, 2013, which includes the monitoring, service and leasing revenue of electronic security systems. Along with Sonitrol Tri-County, nine other Sonitrol franchises have been included in the 2014 SDM 100.
“It is truly an honor to be named among the top 100 security companies by SDM Magazine,” said Sonitrol Tri-County president Mike Wanstreet. “This reflects the hard work and commitment of all our employees, and I want to thank all of our customers in Southeastern and Mid- Michigan who have chosen to put their trust in our company and our services.”
According to SDM Magazine, in 2014 “companies that weighed in on the active market segments seemed to agree that business in commercial markets outpaced residential, with the exception of multi-family sales.”
Commercial markets excelling over residential markets may be attributed to an increase in available funds for commercial growth due to the decline in commercial lending. In the past year, SDM 100 companies noted lucrative areas included technology businesses, medical/healthcare, manufacturing/distribution, utilities, energy, corporate office space and small commercial businesses. — P.S.
