GENESEE COUNTY — Sovita Credit Union will award 25 local teachers $100 grants through nominations by their peers.
This initiative is part of a larger YE$ to People campaign Sovita Credit Union launched last July during their rebrand from Flint Area School Employees Credit Union. The campaign continues to support local causes that advance education and healthcare.
Sovita will award 25 $100 checks to teachers in Genesee and Lapeer County to use in their classrooms for supplies, programs or any initiative they are passionate about.
Nominations can be made in-branch at any of Sovita’s five locations throughout the month of August.
Any person who is a member of Sovita Credit Union or who is employed in the field of education or healthcare can nominate a teacher. Completed applications can be returned to a branch office by Aug. 30. Grant recipients will be selected during the first week of September and the funds will be delivered in person to each recipient.
Sovita Credit Union is proud to celebrate people who bring life to the community and advance the well-being of others. Additional information about the program can be found at sovitacu.org.
