FLINT TWP. — The Bendle/Carman- Ainsworth Adult and Community Education program is offering programs that include Indoor Walking from Jan. 28- March 27 on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30 p.m. for no cost and Belly Dancing takes place on Mondays from Jan. 28-March 4, March 11-April 15 and April 22-May 20 from 6-7 p.m. for $39. Other options include Zumba on Mondays from 7-8 p.m. for $39 from Jan. 28-March 4, March 11-April 15 and April 22-May 20, Gentle Yoga runs from 6:30- 7:30 p.m. on Mondays for $30 on Jan. 28 and Feb. 4, 11 and 25, March 4, 11, 18 and 25 and April 8, 15, 22 and 29 and Power Flex Yoga takes place from Jan. 29-Feb. 26, March 12-April 16 and April 23-May 21 from 7-7:45 p.m. for $35.

Youth enrichment oppor tunities

BURTON — With all classes offered by the Bendle/Carman-Ainsworth Adult and Community Education program open to the public regardless of residency, South Bendle will host Karate For Kids for $25 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. for kids four and up on Tuesdays from Jan. 29-March 19 and April 9-May 28, Karate For Families takes place for $50 from Jan. 29-March 19 on Tuesdays from 7:30-8:30 p.m. for kids age four and up and Karate Adult and Teens is being offered for teens 14 and older from Jan. 29-March 19 and April 9-May 28 for $25. These same classes will also be available at Carman- Ainsworth High School on Thursdays from Feb. 7-March 28 and April 11-May 30 for the same cost from 6-7 p.m., 7-8 p.m. and 8-9 p.m., respectively.

Adult athletic options

FLINT — The Recreation Center at the University of Michigan-Flint has a class schedule that includes Rock’ n Core from 12:15-12:45 p.m. and starting Jan. 17- April 11 on Thursdays Zumba runs from 12:15-1 p.m. and Meditation Exploration is offered at 5:30 p.m.

Other classes include Resist-A-Ball from 12:15-1 p.m. and Zumba Toning from 5:30-6:15 p.m. on Fridays from Jan.18- April 12. Details: 810-762-3441. — M.S.

Globetrotters to visit Perani Arena

FLINT — The Harlem Globetrotters will bring their new 2013 “You Write the Rules” show to Flint on Jan. 28 at the Perani Arena. For the first time ever, fans will determine the rules of the game by voting online at Fans can choose to see anything from the team playing with two balls, double points per basket or any other zany new rules. As part of the tour, the Globetrotters are promoting breast cancer awareness by playing parts of games with pink Globetrotter basketballs and will donate proceeds from in-game sales of pink wrist bands. —L.P.

Club team takes the field

FLINT — The University of Michigan- Flint has several events coming up that include the Women’s Lacrosse Club taking on Wayne State University from 8- 10:30 p.m. on March 21 and that afternoon at 4 p.m. the Recreation Center is hosting a Women’s Night Out that features a sampling of fitness classes such as Zumba, Yoga, Tai Chi, TRX, Resist-ABall, Pilates, Kettlebells, Drums Alive, Cardio Interval Step and Aqua Fitness. The Recreation Center will also host a Ping Pong tournament on March 17 for the first 32 students, faculty/staff or community members with a valid Mcard or day pass to register and on April 13 the U-M Flint Women’s Lacrosse Club faces Central Michigan University from 1-4 p.m. Details: 810-762-6706. — M.S.

Winter races on the horizon

GENESEE COUNTY — Area runners will want to mark their calendars for the first races of the New Year. Those looking to get started in running can join the Crim Training Program. Details: February 16 in a new race, the Hot Chocolate 5K run at Bentley High School in Burton. Noon start. First 150 to register get commemorative race mug. Details: January 12 features the Poho HOt Cocoa 8k/5k races that start in Port Huron at 8:30 a.m. Details: hotcocoa. OAKLAND COUNTY — The Michigan High School Football Coaches Association has listed on its website a 2013 passing league hosted by Holly High School on Wednesday nights from 6-8 p.m. from June 19-July 24.
