Warriors drop pair to Soo

SAULT STE. MARIE — The Michigan Warriors dropped a pair of games to the Soo Eagles in North American Hockey League action Friday and Saturday. The Warriors lost the first game 3-2 in a shootout. Cam Jorgensen scored on the power play at 19:58 of the second to bring Michigan to within one at 2-1.

TK Stuntz’s goal at the 12:09 mark of the third sent the game into overtime. After neither team scored in overtime, the game went to a shootout. The Eagles outscored the Warriors 2-1 to claim the victory. Connor Lyons had the lone goal for Michigan.

The Warriors lost the second game of the weekend 6-2. Sean Campbell and Jake Faiella had the goals for Michigan in the third. — K.W.

Derby Girls returning to action

FLINT — The Flint City Derby Girls women’s flat track roller derby squad will return to action Saturday, March 22 against the Mountain Town Mayhem at Perani Arena. The squad will then take an extended break before hosting the Southern Belles on Saturday, April 26. Details: — K.W.
