Warriors split pair of games

FLINT — The Michigan Warriors split a pair of games with Coulee Region Friday and Saturday. The Warriors dropped the first game 2-1 then came back to take the second game by the exact same score. Both games ended in shootouts. Colin Horton had the only goal from Seth Adams and Tyler Groat in the opener. Tagir Khafzov had the only goal in regulation for Michigan in the second game. Horton and Alex Berardinelli had the goals in the shootout for the Warriors. — K.W.

Hall of Fame tickets sold out

GRAND BLANC — Tickets for the 35th annual Greater Flint Area Sports Hall of Fame induction banquet are sold out. The Class of 2014 will be enshrined Dec. 6 at the Genesys Athletic Conference and Banquet Center, 805 Health Park Blvd., Grand Blanc. Doors open at 3:15 p.m. for a social hour, and the program begins at 4:15 p.m. with dinner followed by the induction ceremony.

The new inductees are Brian Carpenter, Steve Smith, Jeff Hamilton, Lorrie Thornton, Keith Richardson, Bob Perani and Special Service Award winner Bud Stebbins, along with three teams: the 1977 Holy Rosary football team, the 1978 Flint Northern boys’ basketball team and the 1991 Flint Powers Catholic girls’ basketball team. — D.N.

Flint Generals Greats Return

FLINT — The Michigan Warriors are proud to announce that on Saturday, November 22, prior to the Warriors game, a team of former Flint Generals will take on Team Genesee County, a team made up of local coaches, referees and other individuals that are involved with hockey in the Flint Area. The Alumni game will begin at 4:15 p.m. and will be followed by the Warriors vs. Coulee Region Chill at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $8 for adults and $7 for students and seniors and get you into both games. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Kris Perani Foundation and the Old Newsboys. There will also be a silent auction with sports memorabilia compliments of Take 2 Authentics and a Skate with the Warriors following the game.
