Detroit Lions annual youth football camp
GRAND BLANC – The Detroit Lions Football Education Division will host its annual Fundamentals Camp at Grand Blanc High June 15-18. Camp runs 8:30 a.m.-noon and costs $169 per attendee. Camp is open to boys and girls ages 6-14 and will be put through non-contact, fundamental football instruction with emphasis on player health and safety. Appearance by a current or former Detroit Lions player is always a highlight of camp. Sills contests and scrimmages will also take place with a 10:1 athlete to coach ration. Family Golf Day
BURTON – IMA Brookwood Golf Club will host a Family Golf Day Saturday, May 9 from 12-3 p.m. The golf course will be closed to golfers and open to the public.
Any family that attends the event will get in for free.
The Dennis Walters Golf Show includes stations with free golf lessons, SNAG Golf, a putting green course, chipping and bunker station, fit and fun zone with bounce house and a lunch area and a 25-foot dinosaur named Golfzilla.
The Dennis Walters Show is a one-hour demonstration of precision golf from start to finish. Walters, who is paralyzed from the waist down, puts on an amazing show of trick shots along with his opening act Super Dog! The show will run from 12-1 p.m. and is a performance with an inspiring message to kids and adults. Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chair for the show.
A special morning session will be held for kids from YouthQuest, an innovative after school enrichment program for K-8 youth in Genesee County that Simpson delivers golf instruction to through the IMA Recreation Association.

Mother’s Day event
BURTON — The IMA Brookwood Golf & Banquet Center will host a Mother’s Day brunch Sunday, May 10 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The brunch menu includes such items as scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, corn, dinner rolls, pancakes, cheesy hash brown potatoes, baked chicken and maple cranberry pork. Deserts include cakes, cookies, pies muffins and cinnamon rolls. Coffee, hot tea and assorted juices will also be served.

Healing Hands 5K coming
FLINT – The 20th annual Healing Hands 5K Run/Walk, benefiting the Genesee County Free Medical Clinic, will be held Saturday, May 16, in downtown Flint.
The 5K run starts at 9 a.m., with the 5K walk starting at 9:01. Both events will start and finish at Mott Community College, 1401 E. Court St.
Registration fee is $17 with a t-shirt and $12 without a T-shirt before May 11. Late registration is $20 with a t-shirt and $15 without. Awards will go to the overall and masters male and female winners, as well as the top three finishers in each of 15 age groups from 14-and-under to 80-and-over.
