Flint Hall of Fame to announce inductees

GRAND BLANC TWP. – The Greater Flint Area Sports Hall of Fame will announce its 2015 inductees next Wednesday, Oct. 7, in a press party at the Genesys Athletic Club/Banquet Center. The event starts at 5:30 p.m., and the public is invited. The seven new inductees, along with three teams, will be formally enshrined at a banquet Dec. 5 at the same site. – D.N.

Cavs announce Hall of Fame 2015

FLINT TWP. – Carman-Ainsworth High School is pleased to announce the 2015 inductees to the Athletic Hall of Fame: Tim Fellows (1983) Track & Field; Tom Kassion (1982) Football, Track & Field; David Ketter (1983) Football and Wrestling; Stephanie Joseph Long (1984) Track & Field; Terry Nicholson (1973) Wrestling; The 1976 Carman Baseball Team; The 2000 Carman-Ainsworth Boys Soccer Team.

Induction takes place Saturday, Oct. 24 at Holy Redeemer Family Life Center, 1227 East Bristol Road, Burton with social hour from 4:30-5:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 5:30 p.m. and induction program to follow.

Waza Flo pro soccer team to hosts tryouts

FLINT – Tryouts for the new professional soccer team, Waza Flo, that will move to the Dort Federal Credit Union Event Center for the upcoming season will take place Oct. 2-3 at Iceland Arenas in Flint, 1160 Elms Rd. Tryouts on Oct. 2 are 8-10 p.m. and Oct. 3 6-8 p.m. Register on site day of tryout. Cost is $50. Details: Kathy@ WAZAFC.com. – L.P.
