Hunter safety on the offering slate

FLINT TWP. — Sponsored by the DNRE and Carman-Ainsworth Community Education, the free course on Oct. 11, 13, and 16 from 6-9:30 p.m. includes hunting laws, ethics and hunter responsibilities, first aid, bow and arrow and gun hunting safety, survival and range work. Students must be 12 years old or older to take this class. Adults are welcome. Students must attend all classes to receive certification. Bring paper, pencil and $10 fee to the first class. DO NOT bring hunting weapons to class. Saturday class will be held at Grand Blanc Huntsman club. Sign up for this class at the door the first night by 5:30 p.m. — L.P.

Hall of Fame Banquet

FLINT TWP. — The Carman-Ainsworth 9th annual Hall of Fame Banquet will induct its 9th Class into the Hall on Saturday, Oct. 23. The banquet will take place at the Holy Redeemer Family Life Center with social hour at 5:30 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m. The induction ceremony follows dinner.

This year’s Class includes Craig Sheerin (1985) football and wrestling; Kate Fechik (1980) basketball, volleyball, softball; Amy Harris (1987) soccer and tennis; Susan Willliams (1979) basketball, volleyball, softball; Jack Magelssen (1966) cross country, basketball, track; 1971 Ainsworth boys’ basketball team; 1946, 1947, 1948 Hoover High softball team; 1954-55 Dye boys’ basketball team.
