Great Balls of Fire stargazing event
BURTON — Camo and Lace is offering a Great Balls of Fire event on Saturday, June 9, 8 p.m., 2388 N. Belsay Rd., Burton. $2 members, $5 guests. It’s a night of stargazing for women only with Richard Walker of Longway Planitarium on hand to discuss what’s in the night sky. Genesee County golf title to be decidied
BURTON — The IMA Brookwood Golf Club, 6045 Davison Rd., recently opened registration for the 2012 Genesee County Senior Amatuer Championship on June 23-24, which features divisions including Open, 50-62, 63 and over and Women’s (any age). The event format includes 36 holes of golf in two days, tourney will be flighted after first day of play and individuals of all ages are welcome. Fees to compete for this title are $65 for Brookwood season pass holders. Otherwise cost is $85, which includes greens fees, cart, golf balls and awards. Advanced registration is required and entries will not be accepted after June 18.

Registration open for Genesee County Am
BURTON – Entries are being taken for the Genesee County Amateur Championship to be held at IMA Brookwood Golf Club June 23-24. The 36-hole stroke play tournament is a twoday event and is open to players of all ages. The tournament will be flighted after the first day of play. Four divisions will be offered with an Open, Senior (50-62), Super Senior (63+) and Women’s division (any age).
Entry fee is $65 for Brookwood season pass holders and $85 for non-season pass holders. Entry fee includes greens fees and carts for both days, range balls and awards. Advanced registration is required and entries will close on June 18, 2012.

Lions youth football camp on tap
GRAND BLANC — The annual Detroit Lions youth football camp has been set for June 18- 21 at Grand Blanc High. The fundamentals camp runs 8:30 a.m.-noon and costs $159 per person. Ryan Schlee 3-on-3 soccer tournament
GRAND BLANC — The Grand Blanc Community Schools Soccer Parents Inc have set Saturday, July 28 for the 18th annual Ryan Schlee Memorial 3v3 soccer tournament. Last year’s event drew a record 110 teams. This year, funds will help fund two $500 scholarships that are awarded to one boy and one girl from Grand Blanc. Other funds will go toward equipment, indoor field rental and other fees. Divisons include U6 and up, boys’, girls’ and co-ed at various age levels. Summer hoops session nearing

Dare Devil Dash returns in July
BROWN CITY — The 2012 Dare Devil Dash is already accepting registrations for the July 28 race at Brown City Park. Runners will face mud, water and more than one dozen obstacles. New this year is the Little Dare Devils one mile, entry fee of $10, the individual 5K race costs $35 and the four-team 5K race costs $120. The first 100 to sign up get a free race Tshirt. PORT HURON — Saint Clair County Community College will be offering summer sports camps for kids that includes a Girls Volleyball Beginner and Intermediate Camp from 9-11:30 a.m. from July 9-12 for athletes 10-18 years of age.
