Swim, gym night

FLINT TWP. — Kids ages 7-11 are invited to Carman-Ainsworth High School 6:30- 9 p.m. Oct. 29 for a swim and gym night. The event features a variety of activities including swimming, basketball, kickball, board games, crafts, music, socializing and pizza. The event is just for kids; all students must be checked in and out by a parent and/or guardian.

Hall of Fame Banquet

FLINT TWP. — The Carman-Ainsworth 9th annual Hall of Fame Banquet will induct its 9th Class into the Hall on Saturday, Oct. 23. The banquet will take place at the Holy Redeemer Family Life Center with social hour at 5:30 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m. The induction ceremony follows dinner.

This year’s Class includes Craig Sheerin (1985) football and wrestling; Kate Fechik (1980) basketball, volleyball, softball; Amy Harris (1987) soccer and tennis; Susan Willliams (1979) basketball, volleyball, softball; Jack Magelssen (1966) cross country, basketball, track; 1971 Ainsworth boys’ basketball team; 1946, 1947, 1948 Hoover High softball team; 1954-55 Dye boys’ basketball team.

40-plus baseball

FLINT — Playoffs are in full swing in the Jack Wright 40-and-over baseball league at Broome Park. Two semifinal games are scheduled tonight at 6 and 8:15, with four more semis slated for Sunday starting at 1 p.m. Title games in Divisions 2 and 3 will be held Tuesday at 6 and 8:15 p.m., with the Division 1 final set for 7 p.m. Wednesday.
