GENESEE COUNTY — The SPROUT Coalition is sponsoring an art contest open to middle and high school students. The contest is open from now until April 25. Students are asked to create a jingle that can be used to support the 5210 campaign:
5 – Eat five or more fruits and vegetables everyday
2 – Two hours or less of screen time each day (television or games)
1 – One hour of physical activity everyday
0 – Zero sugar sweetened beverages
In addition, students are encouraged to enter 10, 30 and 60 second public service announcements (PSAs) or both radio and television promoting the 5210 message. Students can work individually or as part of a team.
Prizes will be awarded in the following categories:
Best Radio PSA
Best Television PSA
Local school, after-school and faith based youth programs are participating in the contest. Original art work and an entry form can be submitted through those programs or mailed to the Genesee County Health Department at 630 S. Saginaw St., Suite 4, Flint, Michigan 48502.
