FLINT TWP. — Music, dancing, kiddie carnival rides and games, a raffle, beer tent and homemade foods were all part of the fun at the third annual Middle Eastern Festival at St. George Orthodox Church, 5191 Lennon Road. The three-day event included entertainment by belly dancers, singers, a live band and performances by St. George’s Dabke group.
The church revived the festival in 2010 after nearly a 40-year hiatus. It has grown from a one day event in 2010 to a two-day event in 2011 and a three-day event this year. More than 4,000 people were expected to attend.
Proceeds go to charities and to help the poor.
