FLINT — An organ recital, “A Russian Journey” will be presented on Jan. 26 at 4 p.m. by internationally renowned concert organist and recording artist Gail Archer at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 711 Saginaw Street. With over 80 ranks of pipes the Dalton Memorial Organ at the church will produce wonderful music under Archer’s superb musicianship and masterly technique. The program will include works by César Cui, Sergei Lyapunov, Alexander Glazunov and Sergey Slonimsky. Archer is a noted recording artist and has released albums on the Meyer Media label. As one of the few female organists in a male-dominated field, she serves as an advocate for female organists and composers. According to the New York Times, she plays with “a sense of vulnerability and awe.” Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students.
