FLINT TWP. — The Genesee County Prosecutor’s Office has charged a suspect in an April 25 shooting in Flint Township.
The suspect, Michael Love, 46, of Flint Township, is charged with assault with great bodily harm less than murder, receiving and concealing a stolen firearm, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition and three counts of felony firearm.
Love was arraigned on the charges and is being held in the Genesee County Jail. The victim remains in critical condition at a local hospital.
Officers were dispatched at about 3:39 p.m. April 25 to the 3100 block of Devonshire Street for a report of a shooting. Police found a 30-year-old male had been shot in the chest with a pistol. Witnesses told police the alleged shooter was inside a home in the immediate area. A short time later, the suspect surrendered without incident. The initial investigation showed there was an argument prior to the shooting.
