FLINT TWP. — Police have arrested a suspect for the robbery of an elderly citizen last week.
Police reported on June 22 that the 75-year-old victim was robbed after visiting a bank. While the victim was inside the bank, a 21-yearold suspect allegedly entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and waited in the back seat.
When the victim returned to his vehicle, the suspect demanded money and ordered the victim to drive him wherever he wanted to go. The victim pulled into a parking lot with numerous witnesses and the suspect fled on foot into the woods.
Police were called to the 3300 block of Van Slyke road at about 12:33 p.m.
Flint Township offices were assisted by numerous police agencies and the Michigan State Police K-9 unit. The suspect was apprehended and lodged at the Genesee County Jail pending review by the county prosecutor.
Upon review of this case the Genesee County Prosecutor’s Office issued a charge of armed robbery against the 21 year old suspect Isaiah Deontay Braddock.
