FENTON – The Carman-Ainsworth boys’ swim team placed 10th at the Saginaw Valley League meet at Fenton High Saturday. The meet ran Feb. 22-24 with prelims in diving on Thursday, swim prelims on Friday and finals on Saturday.
Midland Dow won the title with 1,245 points, Saginaw Heritage was second with 775 and Bay City Western was third with 570. Flint Powers was fourth with 466, Bay City Central was fifth with 345 and Lapeer sixth with 333. Midland placed seventh with 301, Bay City John Glenn was eighth with 251, Davison ninth with 195 and Carman-Ainsworth 10th with 105.
Nathan Ratynski, Cameron Koegel, Connor Heaton and Carson Koegel were 10th in the 200 medley relay in 2:00.96. Natalie Cook was 27th in the 200 freestyle in 2:13.11 and Carson Koegel was 10th in the 50 free in 23.55 and 18th in the 100 free in 54.07. Heaton, Koegel, Ratynski and Koegel were ninth in the 200 free relay in 1:42.56, just missing the final cutoff for the A-final. Ratynski placed 18th in the 100 backstroke in 1:08.36.
