GENESEE COUNTY – State residents can get assistance and information about Michigan’s unemployment insurance system through a series of free seminars around the state, hosted by the Michigan’s Talent Investment Agency.
Participants will get details about the claims process, learn how to use the Michigan Web Account Manager (MiWAM) — the online system for managing benefit accounts — and much more. The first seminar is planned for June 13in Traverse City, with others scheduled through August from Detroit to Marquette. Each seminar will be held from 3 to 5 p.m.
The day will consist of brief presentations, with time for questions and answers on various topics including filing claims, certification, understanding determinations, eligibility requirements, and more. A representative from Michigan Works! will be available to provide information to jobseekers about services to assist them in preparing for their next job opportunity.
