FLINT TOWNSHIP — A 16-year-old Flint Township youth faces charges of assault with intent to murder and armed robbery in a Nov. 19 attack that left a 14-year old Swartz Creek male with multiple knife wounds.
Juan Luis Gutierrez was arraigned Monday in 67th District Court. Judge Christopher Odette set bond at $200,000 cash or surety. Both charges carry maximum penalties of life in prison.
The charges stem from a Nov. 19 dispute at Genesee Village Apartments, according to Flint Township police.
Earlier reports indicated four unknown people dropped off the injured teen at McLaren Flint Hospital, then left in a dark-colored
McLaren staff transferred the youth to Hurley Medical Center where he underwent surgery.
Gutierrez is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Tuesday, Dec. 22.
