FLINT — Genesee Health Plan (GHP) announced recently, it will host its third annual Genesee Health Plan Drive-Thru Immunization event Oct. 14 from 3-6 p.m. The event will take place at Genesee Health Plan’s office located at 2171 S. Linden Road, Flint.
“This is a quick, convenient and free opportunity for Genesee County residents to get their flu shot. We invite everyone to come out with their families so they can stay healthy throughout the winter months,” said GHP President and CEO Jim Milanowski. “Genesee Health Plan is Genesee County’s plan for better health and we are committed to connecting families, children and seniors to life-saving health services like our Drive-Thru Immunization event.”
Attendees can drive through one of the heated drive-in service bays or go inside GHP’s office for their flu shots. Information on health and other resources will also be offered, as well as information on the importance of immunizations.
Attendees will also have an opportunity to speak with a GHP Health Navigator to sign up for healthcare coverage under Genesee Health Plan, Healthy Michigan Plan, Medicaid and special health coverage for those impacted by the water crisis, depending on eligibility.
If residents are not able to attend, they can obtain a flu vaccination from their physician, during an upcoming immunization event or at a number of health centers and pharmacies throughout Genesee County. Vaccinations are covered by the Genesee Health Plan, Healthy Michigan and the Michigan Health Insurance Marketplace.
