Third Person to debut at FIA

FLINT — Third Person, an all-star drama from Academy Award-winning writer-director Paul

Haggis, will launch the 2014–15 Friends of Modern Art film series Sept. 5–7 at the Flint Institute of Arts.

The first two months of the annual ninemonth FOMA weekly series also include an Irish comedy, The Bachelor Weekend (with Sherlock TV co-star Andrew Scott); an award-winning documentary, Herb & Dorothy 50X50; and, during October, a roster of French films (A Summer’s Tale, Le Chef, Chinese Puzzle, Venus in Fur).

The Best of FOMA series screening begins with Herb & Dorothy, the original documentary about two people and their amazing art collection.

Our Halloween season treat is the original 1954 Japanese version of the classic monster movie Godzilla. The Best of Foma runs one Thursday every month at 7:30p.

Film descriptions, schedule and ticket prices for September and October are listed online at FlintArts.org/Films. The FIA film program is supported by the Friends of Modern Art and sponsored by Guardian Alarm, Michigan Radio and Preview Sponsor Merrill Lynch.

The Flint Institute of Arts is located just two blocks off I-475 in the Flint Cultural Center between the University of Michigan-Flint and Mott Community College.
