— Flint Township Police Department arrested three individuals in connection with the Nov. 14 murder of Darvades Dequin Monte Atkins, 20, of Lapeer. Atkins was found in the parking lot of Clovertree Apartments with multiple gun shot wounds after police responded to the incident. Atkins was transported to Hurley Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Flint Township Police Detectives made the first arrest in the case on Nov. 16 with the arrest of Lapeer resident Brittany Lynn Lalonde for the murder of Atkins. Lalonde has been charged with four counts: open murder; armed robbery; felony firearm — carrying or possessing firearm when committing or attempting to commit felony; and possession of a firearm by felon.
On Nov. 19, detectives arrested Ishmael Ladon Collins and David Minyoung-Polite Robinson III for the murder of Atkins. The two men have been charged with open murder, armed robbery and felony firearm — carrying or possessing firearm when committing or attempting to commit felony. Lalonde, Collins and Robinson are currently being held at the Genesee County Jail.
“We believe we have all the suspects in custody,” said Chief of Police George N. Sippert. “An excellent job was done by all the detectives. It was a case where there were no witnesses really. All of the information was obtained through interrogation.”
The Flint Township Police Department is continuing its investigation. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Sgt. Baldwin or Det. Daly at 810-600-3250.
