GRAND BLANC — The New Century Chorale is preparing for its 28th season of bringing beautiful choral music to the community. The chorale’s theme for the year is “Together in Song,” which celebrates the exit from the Covid silence.
Their first concert of the season, entitled “Songs from Silence,” will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23 at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church, 9020 South Saginaw Rd.
The program will include songs that relate to breaking the silence of the past 18 months – “The Awakening” and “Song of My Heart.” It also will honor all those who have died during the pandemic.
The concert will benefit the Catholic Charities of Shiawassee and Genesee Counties. This comprehensive health and human services agency provides counseling, meal programs, housing programs, foster care, and many other services to the community. A portion of ticket sales and a free will offering will be donated to the charity.
Tickets cost $12 at the door (masks are required) and the concert will also be live streamed.
