Tournament-tested Cavs’ bowling teams back in action

BAY CITY — While most high school sports teams were enjoying a couple of weeks off the sltae, Carman- Ainsworth’s boys’ and girls’ bowling teams have been participating in tournaments. On Dec. 21, the squads participated in the Bay City Western Baker’s Dozen Tournament at Monitor Lanes in Bay City. After bowling 13 Baker games, both teams made the cut during the qualifying portion of the tournament. The boys were eliminated in the quarterfinals and the girls ended their run by placing third after being eliminated by Davison. On Dec. 28th, the teams participated in the Davison Holiday Doubles Tournament at Richfield Bowl. Six boys and girls were paired together in the 96-team field. Three of Carman- Ainsworth’s teams—Jordan Nunn- Kenzey Lord, Jordan Bair-Kassidy Lord, DeQuincy Adams-Shamonica Simon—made the qualifying round of 32 teams. Nunn-Kenzey Lord finished in the top eight and Kassidy Lord was selected to the All-Tournament team, made up of the top individual scores for the three games during the qualifying round.

Regular-season action returns for the Cavs’ teams on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Chippewa Lanes in Mt. Pleasant. — L.P.
