— A new codification fee schedule for the township was approved 4- 2, with Trustees Belenda Parker and Barb Vert dissenting, at its Dec. 20 meeting. The new schedule goes into effect Jan. 1, 2011.
The new codification fee schedule was presented by Economic Enhancement Director Tracey Tucker, who said that in order to change fees in the township, a new schedule was needed for the entire township. While the majority of the fees stayed the same, Tucker said changes and additions were made to the Rental Compliance Inspections category, along with fireworks permits, tent/outdoor sale permit and special events permit. Other changes came with the miscellaneous fees category which includes copies for $.10 each and notary services, which are free for township residents, $10 for nonresidents in the state of Michigan and $10 for an out-of-state notary.
“The land division fees changed, and the water rates are the same but last time, they were listed wrong on the schedule,” she said.
Also at the meeting, Supervisor Karyn Miller informed the public that the township offices will be closed Dec. 24, 27. 31 and Jan. 3 in observance of the holidays. The township hall also will be closed from noon-2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 23 for a holiday luncheon.
