Township approves purchase of new patrol vehicles

FLINT TWP. — The Flint Township Board of Trustees has approved the purchase of four new patrol vehicles for the Flint Township Police Department at a cost of $155,588. Each vehicle was available for purchase through a Genesee County vehicle bid contract with Berger Chevrolet of Grand Rapids at a price of $38,897 each. The new vehicles, all new 2021 Chevy Tahoes, will be replacing four high millage Tahoes that are currently in the department’s patrol fleet.

The board also approved the purchase of two radar units at a cost of $3,420 and equipment outfitting for each new vehicle at a cost of $29,548. — B.G.
